Adjusting Stream on Oxygenics Shower Head?

Hello, folks,

I figured if anyone could answer this, someone here could. We just bought an Oxygenics shower head this spring, and tried it out on our first trip this past weekend. Neither my wife nor I were impressed with it, though, because it shot out an almost-straight stream of water with very little spread. Although the water does seem to come out at high pressure, its cone is so narrow that I might as well be using the end of the hose alone. I have looked this thing over and not found any way to adjust it, nor is there anything about adjustment in the instructions or on the website. With all the high recommendations for this showerhead on this site, I must be missing something. Can anyone offer suggestions?

Thanks,
Regan

  • I'm clean after showering and it didn't use much water, so I'm pleased with it. ;) YMMV

Thanks, everyone, for your input. For some reason I have not been able to post lately with the forum acting up the way it has, but I do appreciate the replies. I thought I must be the only one that didn't care for the Oxygenics. Perhaps the pressure was a little lower than average because we were on the pump rather than hook-ups, but we use the trailer that way much of the time, so I think I'm going back to the old head with lower pressure but a much wider pattern.

    Safe travels,

Be glad to take it off your hands so you don't have to store it :)
  • I never noticed that it has a narrow spray pattern. I use it because it gives me a good shower using much less water than the OEM shower head did.

I have only used one of those, in a Forest Service Park.. Results were

Well I give it a mixed review

I do plan on buying one for RV use but frankly I do not use my shower that much, prefer the park showers (Better pressure and flow)

It sounds to me that your water pressure may be too low in the MH. I would try it in your house to see if is any better for you. Mine is too narrow when I adjust the ring to restrict the flow. Also make sure that the head is not clogged with mineral deposits from the HWH. I have had to soak some shower heads in vinegar to remove these deposits.
  • The one touted by most RVers tends to have a narrower spread than some other brands .. I suppose trying to cut down actual water use while creating the illusion of water pressure has it's limitations. I use one in the stick house an love it .. but it's located about 8' high and the spread is OK by the time it gets to our level.
  • Mine isn't adjustable, unless I just don't where the adjustment is. But I don't need to adjust it anyway. The solid stream mentioned by the OP only happens to mine when the flow adjustment is turned to it's lowest setting. It then trickles with a small solid stream.
  • There is an outer ring near the base that is adjustable, but on mine it's more to adjust the pressure, thus saving more water, but doesn't affect the spray. Search on YouTube and i'm sure someone has posted on this. I personally love mine.
