I get the 1 hr from the op.
"24 hour usage around 1 kilowatt"
OK, it's a bit less than an hour, more like 0.66 hr (1500W * 0.66 hr = 1 kWh).
You state 3x (1500Wh in a 5 hour span) could be worst case. Is that our design goal?
1500Wh/12V = 125Ah
Going solar: Watts = 130W * 125Ah/35Ah = 464W
This calculation is based on my 130W panel getting 35Ah/day.
I doubt 460W will fit on the roof. Will 2x, or 300W fit?
The battery needs to be sized. Virtually all current (100A) will come from the batteries. Without knowing duty cycles, I would suggest 4 batteries.

I'm trying to understand your situation. You got a 2 hp motor (~1500W). It runs about one hour in a 24 hour period. Correct? What's the duty cycle?
I use it intermittently from about 11am-4pm, not every day. On a moderate use day it takes about 500w to recharge it. I don't have a measurement for a heavy use day, yet, but 2x that seems reasonable. Maaaaaybe 3x. Where are you getting the 1 hour from?
