If you have deep pockets and never recharge below -20 c (-4f) then LI would lighten your battery load.
Too steep for me, new, but I was intrigued by the talk about used electric car batteries.
What is the current number of amp-hours you have?
Approx 150ah house, plus 144ah tools.
I doubt that 1 kwh per day can be had with 300 watts of panels when days are short. In June it is not a problem, but if you full time, then we have to look at December. As soon as we done we end up back at the noisy smelly solution.
Helpful to know.
A solar setup does not have to provide ALL my power. After all, I don't have a shower in my rig, and places with showers often have electricity!
I'd just like to extend my boondocking. I have a specific trip planned this summer/fall, 3-4 weeks without power would be the easiest way to do it (there are showers), but there's also the option of boondocking 3-4 days at a time and then breaking camp and moving to a place with power in between.
There are some electric start generators that have wattage in the 2k VA range.
Ok, cool.
