Proper research and careful planning, you can handle this. Just because you aren't intimately familiar with all the terminology, doesn't mean you can't learn it. I am not a licensed electrician, but I did quite extensive research, to include local codes etc, and planned out my wiring of my remoted garage/workshop in the back yard. I researched every aspect I could, drew up my plan, went to the city inspectors, and got their review and approval. I also happened to know a fully qualified and licensed electrician (albeit in California, and me in Georgia), and sent him my plan. He gave me additional pointers. I did exactly what I planned to do, and inspector signed off the rough install (buried cable, conduit with plugs wired but not hot, grounding rods driven in, but not totally buried and my installation within the house, to include routing to the panel etc). Total thumbs up.. with one minor suggestion, which I adopted.
You do need to be thorough in your research, you are, after all, playing with dangerous electricity. But, it can be done. You're getting some good suggestions, and some snarky comments. I suspect you are capable enough to discern the difference.
