Since I recently upgraded axles, I now have the EZ lubes. After much thought, I will not use this feature..
Many here note that the first time it takes a lot of grease as you have to fill the cavity.
After looking over how the system works, I think that it needs the same amount of grease everytime.
This is how it works: When pumping in new grease, it first flows to the inner bearings, adding more grease displaces the old grease which flows into the cavity towards the outer bearings. It has to have a lot of grease added to force the old grease thru the cavity, into the outer bearings and finally exiting the hub... Just adding a little will mean that old grease will eventually end up on the outer bearings... It may take several greasings for it to get there, but it will.
Looking at the time and cost of the amount of grease it would take to do this right each time... Purging ALL of the old grease out, not just moving it around... I will just stay with hand packing.
