I'm not sure what the point of either exercise is. Since I don't intend to use my grease to prevent sea water from attacking the sealed bearings in my trailer, I don't really care that it will protect a bolt for 18 years underwater. I could use a good silicone sealant to protect a bolt from sea water, but that doesn't mean I'd want to use in my wheel bearings.
I mean there is cheap grease, but I sure wouldn't pay extra for grease that advertised it would keep a bolt from rusting after 6 months in seawater. That tells me diddly about it's lubricating properties.
