Where can you get a motor: Only source I know of is OEM. And far as I know they do not sell parts direct to consumer
To get AT the motor....
Extend the awning however you have to do it, your owner's manual will give instructions but you can remove a screw or two from the end of the arm, or better yet the bolt that holds the end on.. You now unhook that flat 2 connector and you can now unroll the awning manually (if you remove the screws the arms dome down with it, if you don't.. Well then you are going to have to hold the awning) support it with a step ladder and perhaps a bungee cord to keep it there.
Now, drill out the 3 POP rivets in the end of the awning tube.
Motor and brake assemble slides out
What is the brake.
It is a disc brake, spring operated with magnetic pull off,,, If you apply power with a dead motor you should hear it CLICK. It is automatic and part of the motor housing.
