And here is where interpretation of NEC starts to be confusing, at least to this old Swede. There are separate sections that describe requirements for different types of housing (stationary), mobile applications, and for RV's, that are a combination of both. Add in the requirement schedule from RVIA and it is more nebulous.
What I find for my own use and habitation in the RV is to stick to the NEC for single residence as much as possible. I'm sure I make mistakes because I'm not dealing with it every day, as would an electrician. I don't have any AFCI's installed and don't plan to use them.
