LY, thanks for the comments. I had read the manual and saw the conditioning procedure. In my case I think that would stress my batteries without being helpful. My batteries have been unused for the past 18 months. The charge has been maintained at 13.7v with my solar panels.
I think I am going to wait a couple more weeks for warmer weather. Then I will cover the solar panels and run my compressor refrigerator with the door open. I believe it pulls about 3.0-3.5 amps. So it should take roughly 2 full days to drop my battery voltage to about 12.0-12.2. There is no way I can judge if the batteries retain 80 percent of the initial capacity but at least I can verify that they are not under 50 percent of capacity.
