Liketoride2,
What is it, you are after? Each type of battery has its own advantages and disadvantages. It's what you want your batteries to do or not do is the only thing that matters. From a resistor to a charger, a meter, a tire, a shock absorber, I sort out, what I am after. A goal. A vague wanting for "better" is damned near hopeless to try and diagnose and search the marketplace.
Were you content with the performance, longevity, and maintenance of your flooded batteries? Do you harbor gripes? Your statement about cost/value is sort of vague. AGM cost double or more of standard deep cycle car jar or GC batteries.
And AGM, like I mentioned earlier, does not guarantee a top of the line performer. There are various grades like Fullriver and Lifeline premium, Deka and Johnson Controls, ordinaries, and some pretty flaky brands that need close examination. Start with weight. An AGM golf car battery that weighs out similar to a flooded battery means it is garbage. A name brand golf car battery should have thicker plates than a car jar battery of equal amp hours. Two golf car batteries that weigh considerably more than the same brand's car jar batteries WITH EQUAL AMP HOUR CAPACITY (means X2 car jar batteries in some cases), means the golf car batteries have different plates. Go back and note the word "considerably". Ten pounds difference is enough to pay attention to. Remember, you're weighing two car jar RV batteries against a pair of golf car batteries.
Hope this helps
