Air Conditioner Fan Runs with Furnace Fan When On 120 Volts

On my TT I have a DOMETIC BRISK II AC 13,5KBTU B57915 air conditioner. The fan draws about 2.5 amps. This air conditioner has NO manual controls on it. --- I also have a Suburban ducted furnace and it's fan draws 7 amps. It is all only controlled through a Dometic 3313192.000 Single Zone LCD Thermostat.

When I dry camp on batteries only, the furnace simply runs it's own 7 amp fan. But when I run my Honda 2000 generator both the furnace AND the air conditioner fan run simultaneously. The air conditioner has NO heat pump, so I don't know why the air conditioner fan would run with the furnace also. Since the air conditioner has no manual controls there is no way to turn it off. The extra power it uses on my limited Honda output and the extra noise (very noisy)it makes seem to make no practical sense. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix to stop the air conditioner fan from running with the furnace while on AC power?

Press mode to get to fan mode, select auto for fan mode.

Thanks. I also found this perfect YouTube video explaining it. YouTube Video
  • I had a similar issue recently. Inside my t'stat is a switch that has two settings. One is for electric and the other is for gas. I moved the switch to gas and all is well.
