Yes it would be better to have the inverter closer, the problem is the engine heat makes the inverter shut down, so it has to be in a cooler spot. ( and no splashing up from puddles either)
I can't find a good way to get wires from engine into the truck cab, but it is easy to run them under the truck and back up between the cab and the box to where the camper is. I can then get connected to the camper "house batts" (some of which are actually in the truck bed in front of the wheel well beside the bottom of the camper)
I can have the inverter and charger inside the camper close to the front, and still run the charger, having tried it with this set of 25 ft cables.
The PowerMax converter runs ok on MSW, and so does the Vector charger. The converter did only 50 amps instead of 57 but that was likely due to the "low voltage" input to the converter?
