Am I shortening my battery life?

We have not been able to go out much in the last year so I have kept the 53r plugged in at home. I check the two Cr235 6v batteries monthly and top off as needed (which is not much). The 5er has a WFCO 8955 which I know is not very popular regarding bulk mode. Question is am I shortening the battery life by keeping it charged up, ~13v instead of occasionally running it down to 50 0r 60% and hoping the bulk charge will kick in? Also what effect is not equalizing them monthly or weekly having? I know there are many thoughts on this so I hope to hear your opinions.

  • Very hot this time of year! I have been checking the water regularly with little to no water needed in any cell. I have not checked the SG in about a month but is was fine then. I will check again tomorrow and compare it to Crown specs. Thanks! I believe the float is about 12.2v or 12.3v. When I checked the battery voltage about 1.5hrs after flipping the disconnect it was at 12.9v?
  • Tucson is a bit warm, yes? Watch the water level and keep them plugged in. You don't need boost mode as much as you need to verify float mode at 13.2 volts.
  • What is the SG of each cell? What does Crown say the SG should be?

Can't tell anything without knowing that.
