I pretty much always set the voltage on my rsp-500-15 powersupply before connecting the 45 amp Anderson Powerpoles.
Before connecting 14.7v, after connecting at 45Ah from full voltage will read 13.4, and takes abour 22 minutes to climb to 14.7v.
If the battery is nearly full, amps quickly taper to low single digits and voltage is practically instantly at 14.7v.
I do have some voltage drop on my 8awg wiring at high amperages and can twist voltage up way higher than 15v to keep 40 amps flowing for a few minutes longer, but I have to back off once it hits 14.7v.
Battery temperature also rises pretty quickly at 40 amps charge current, but spinning my voltage dial downward takes no time.
