Will still do the test of resting batteries individual readings Sunday before we change spots.
Last night, two times I had the inverter off for 2-3 hours, starting with a full charge indicated and 100% SOC. The batteries did not hold up. After the second cycle off for ~3 hours, I got up to check things and start up the inverter for today. The voltage indicated on three different sources. Magnum via BMK, MidNite and Sea Level II - all showed 13.05V. SOC was 89% on the MidNite, and 90% on the Magnum. For the last 4 1/2 years, this would have made me fell comfortable that I still had plenty of power.
Within minutes of starting the Inverter, they were showing 12.87-12.88V. The Samsung takes between 5-10 mins to have the compressor kick into high gear. Once it did, I could watch the voltage drop rapidly again. Got so low, the water pump would not remain on. Indicating 9.92V by the time I walked up to the ARC50 Remote Panel to turn the Inverter off again. (We were still an hour away from Generator hours.)
So I suspect I'll find that a few those Lifeline L16's are pretty dang low when I do the at rest readings tomorrow(:!
I do not want to change these out on this trip, as I'm still trying to decide between another bank of AGM's or going to Lithium.
Would I be crazy to consider connecting a Grp31 to the house bank to help augment overnight usage? Or is this a dream with a non happy ending:)! (My BIL would claim, and get a deal from me on the Grp31 for his boat. Sam's has the Duracell AGM Dual Purpose with $20 off now. Do not see true deep cycle AGM's on their web page. And do not want wet GC2's.
And yes, as was talked about elsewhere. If I do find that two of these L16's are the weakest link, I'll go ahead disconnect them, and see how 400AH of older L16's do without the drag of probably sick battery brothers.
Verdict please! Crazy to consider this, or not?
TIA,
Smitty
And FYI. Magnum in just under two hours of Absorb, and reflecting 14.3V and 39-40A (Fluctuates.).
I went out and measured battery cell top temps again:
B1 = 84.9 / 83.1 / 84.3F
B2 = 83.5 / 79.6 / 78.2F
B3 = 79.4 / 78.3 / 79.3F
B4 = 79.4 / 77.3 / 76.6F
Battery 2 and battery 4, were the ones that had the 4.xx V readings (Not at rest.) when I took my first measurements after going into Magnum Fault condition.
