I thought maybe they weren't agm, but I could only find agm deep cycle lifelines, on line?
A C/4 Charge Rate is a decent rate. A 40 amp charger, with a 160Ah bank, you could do probably about a 50-78% ??? bulk charge, before amps taper, in a little over an hour, followed by 40a tapering. About another hour to get to say 88% soc. The last 10 or 12% will be very slow. At 14.5v, you'll know you're at about 90%, when amps taper to about 8a; at 14.8v about 13a.
I have to imagine it will be faster than the wfco, overall. Plus the 13.6v is a lousy finish voltage, and will likely result in lower resting voltages and sg readings. (That would be interesting to compare though).
The problem is, other than the vec1093, it doesn't appear there are any good portable chargers available... at least not in the 40-50a range. This is why some of us have opted for adjustable power supply units. However, there are some decent converters that can hold Vabs at the appropriate voltage.
As for the eu2000i, you will have plenty of gen charging power. It will handle up to a 60a non-pfc charger, and 75a pfc. You only need 40a, so you're good to go. Which is also nice, for two reasons... the gen will be well under full throttle (quieter, less vibration, better fuel economy) and you can still run other loads like the tv, laptop, pump, lighting, etc. without maxing out the gennie.
