I also have a 3100, and previously owned a Honda EU3000is. It isn't as quiet as the Honda EU3000is, but not by much. If you are somewhere where the Champion is too loud, you shouldn't run the Honda either. It's close to as quiet as you get, with a 3000 watt generator.
