Its internal fan is very noisy and blows out a lot of hot air when it comes on. I suspect the problem is it waits till things are already pretty warm before it comes on. It is also noisy and best avoided.
It would not cost me money to put a fan blowing on the inverter externally, because I have fans.
I don't uses the inverter very much, so I don't suppose I will wear it out anytime soon.
But you know, when you need it you need it, and you don't want it shutting down because it gets too hot.
Putting together the advice here, it seems I should put a computer fan in the wall of the electrical closet, blowing directly on or off the inverter, and the charger will like it too. And maybe have it sitting on the fan mat, or drill some holes...
With all the work to do this summer, I don't see myself soldering on a new internal fan or figuring out how to reset it's thermostat. I am better with a drill than a soldering iron :B
