Any reason not to drill holes to ventilate inverter?

My cheap-azz HF inverter overheats easily when it's out in the open air and nights are freezing. In new van build, I plan to have an actual electrical cabinet. The inverter is going to freak out...

I have, in my Jamboree 26Q a Xantrex Prosine inverter 2000w? It might be 2500w. Anyway, it was installed to replace the stock converter/charger. Also, it's where the old charger was. It has never overheated but it seemed to be very warm on the seat where it's installed. I installed a pancake computer fan 12vdc, it has been there for ten years and still going strong. One thing, when the Inverter/Conver comes on the fan comes on but it shuts off after it drops down in temp, in the Inverter/Converter Charger.
