Any reason not to drill holes to ventilate inverter?

My cheap-azz HF inverter overheats easily when it's out in the open air and nights are freezing. In new van build, I plan to have an actual electrical cabinet. The inverter is going to freak out...

I glued in a peltier junction (TEC) thermoelectric cooler on a 400 w cheapo HF unit to keep my rechargeables fully charged. This TEC will chill a unit even at 100 deg ambient.

With a discarded PC processor heatsink/cooling fan and mounted on top the TEC this unit works 24/7 inside a cabinet.

This peltier is used on those portable ice makers.

Just make sure to unplug on cold weather or icicles would form on the fins. LOL

Available on eBay for less than ten bucks.
