Any reason not to drill holes to ventilate inverter?

My cheap-azz HF inverter overheats easily when it's out in the open air and nights are freezing. In new van build, I plan to have an actual electrical cabinet. The inverter is going to freak out...

Those Peltier cooling units are used in those 12v portable thermoelectric coolers
They cool about 40 degrees below ambient
And can be helpful in a variety of applications

I know our 120v portable ice maker has a compressor, not a Peltier unit
