Any reason not to drill holes to ventilate inverter?

My cheap-azz HF inverter overheats easily when it's out in the open air and nights are freezing. In new van build, I plan to have an actual electrical cabinet. The inverter is going to freak out...

I ended up buying a Zamp 300w psw to add to my inverter collection.

Could not get at Lowe's, but I got one for $62 including shipping from ebay, which I assume originated at a Lowe's sale.

It won't run my freezer, though, which killawatt meter tells me runs at 125w but has a 1250w startup!
