Several folks in the CG I was in last week have JACK antennas on top of tall poles.. Still not as good as my Sensar III + Wingman and Sensar Pro.. Darn little is.

Got out and tuned around (This was the first fully tunable 2 meter FM hand held far as I knwo) and found a repeater in Adrian, And some hams in Toledo using it. (Adrian is MI< TOledo is a bit south (like 12 miles) of MI.
Well someone tried to join in.. We got he was a Canadian but not his full call.. I Switched over since I could SEE Windsor from where I stood and had solid signal from him.. We finished with the distant folks and he and I talked direct for a whil

He is running about 49 watts Effectve power at 30 feet (or the other way around) I'm running about 1/4 watt holding the radio in my hand
But my feet are about 240 feet higher than his
