In general we really like the GM system. First, you can set it to either chime (NOT) or Buzz the seat (the way to go), or completely turn it off, same with the lane avoidance feature.
Does it give false alarms, YES. Especially when going into/out off the garage.
But it is REALLY nice when pulling into a parking space knowing how close you can get to something. Really nice with the taller hood on my 2015 vs. the 2004.
And a couple of times has warned me of a errant shopping cart or something low that wasn't visible from inside.
Nicest thing is if you don't like lane avoidance or parking sensors, don't worry, just turn whichever, or both off and be on your merry way.
