Anybody tried these solder and seal connectors?

Looks interesting. I’ve done this before but not out of a kit.

  • been used in the military specifications for years. However, not all are made to the same US spec.
  • I keep seeing the ads and makes me scratch my head ... Navy Avionics A school would fail those as cold solder joints ... or am I missing something?
  • I use standard crimps that I fill with a de-oxidation compound to seal out water.
In some locations I use heat shrink with a sealant inside. When heat is applied to the tubing the sealant forms a water proof seal.
  • Yes i have used them. It's a very good idea. You can use a lit match to both melt the solder then shrink the shrink wrap. It's fast quick and easy. Hobby shops carry them. When I use them, I use one of those small hand held butane torch's and it makes it very fast process. I should add that the bigger ones you should use the torch. I'm glad you posted this cause I lost my buying source.
