Anyone run the generator on TT while underway?

Hot summer travel issue... I want to start the generator and turn on the AC an hour or so before reaching my overnight stop (Wal-Mart or truck stop) while on the road. Does anyone do this? Any ha...

How do you run the power cable from the TT to the generator? My connection is on the side of the TT and the generator would be on the hitch or the bumper?
