Another option depending on how accessable the top of your tanks are is a bulkhead mount ultrasound transducer.
The external capacitor sensing transducers used to be very expensive.
Oh there's also an internal resistive sensor, bulkhead mount. Basically a pressure sensitive strip inside a silicone or PTFE tube. Linear analog output based on fluid level. Nothing to jam or foul, even if paper or detritus gets stuck it won't change the overall pressure.
