I am thinking about a TPMS for my single axle trailer -- probably a good idea! But in doing the usual research, it looks to me like the sensors are sort of like little knobs that attach to the valve stem and stick out a little.
Will those sensors stand up to low-speed off-pavement towing? (Rarely over ten miles an hour, and usually much less.) Will they get caught on brush and branches that stick out into the roadway? Can they withstand the gravel that will inevitably bounce up and hit them?
Sorry if this seems like a naive question -- I searched the archives and came up empty. Thanks in advance for your advice!
(And by the way, which make and model would you recommend? I'm looking for one where I can replace the batteries myself, rather than sending it back to the factory.)
My Ram 2500 Laramie CC/LB 4x2 IL-6 6.7LCTD, has them. I was going to order a Ram Power Wagon 4x4 and they come standard on the Power Wagon 4x4. I was going to order a PW but could not get the LB/IL-6 6.7L CTD (Cummins Turbo Diesel) .
So I would say they are good to go.
