I do it the way I do because it's easy to just plug the motorhome's 30 amp shore cable into the EX650, I already own the old bullet-proof Sears charger which we carry along for Boy-Scout backup so why not make use of it, the Sears charger power cord is easy to plug into the EX650 along with the shore cable, and the Sears charger output clips are easy to clip onto the Onan's starting power lugs via heavy cables coming from the coach battery bank on the other side of the motorhome from where the Onan and the shore cable are located.
To make a long story short, I'm both getting lazy and not wanting to spend our money on new stuff when we already own old stuff the works.
