Believe it or not the load is the biggest obstacle. I have only the Lifeline 31. The other day I discharged it to 12.62 volts and hit the switch for the WhiffCo. Voltage climbed for a couple of minutes stabilized at 13.71 for three or four minutes, then jumped to 14.61
Knowing Curly was now joined with Moe and Larry I let the WhiffCo continue to charge at that voltage for ten minutes or so then blew the whistle and shut down the circus. I restarted the WC and it resumed it's 13.6 volt normalcy.
But connected for three months, uninterrupted with zero load the WC refuses to go into float mode. I'm getting ready to retire Norman Bates and connect one of the Cheapos to the 31. Set it at 13.0 and forget it. The temp here is just too warm to permit the WC to pump out 13.62 (WARM is 117 degrees).
