Original voltage range on my Meanwell rsp-500-15 with original 976ohm pot:
13.23 to 19.23v
Voltage range with 10 turn 1017ohm pot soldered in:
13.12 to 19.23v
More Ohms = lower voltage on both my cheapowatt( may it rest in smoky pieces) and Meanwell.
Pics indicate same value Pot was used on cheapowatt as Megawatt
Not sure I'd add a 500 ohm pot if power supply is ever intended for float voltages
Goal of MegaWatt is bulk voltage of 13.5 to 14.4V for an AGM battery. MegaWatt 30 is maxed at 15.56V with 0 ohms, and I've not checked how low it goes with the original pot, assuming 975 to 1025 ohms.
My battery generally sees a full recharge coming back from a camping trip once at home, and a full recharge right before leaving on a trip. In storage, it just sits. I might top it off once every month or two when not going on trips. Float is not an option with a Honda Eu2000i generator. It is with my solar panel set up.
If I pedestal camp (rare) the WFCO at 13.6V might end up floating, but I prefer dry camping /boondocking more for trips, for the solitude, and self sufficiency.
If original 1000 ohm pot is left in place, and the 500 ohm 10 turn is piggybacked on it, the little screw can be used for course range adjustments and the 500 ohm pot can be used for fine adjustments, correct?
