Assistance on new house battery

First off I know very little about this subject but want to learn, so please bear with me....

I have a Harris 27D170 battery as a house battery in my MH that is connected to a 30amp Sunforce solar controller. I would like to find out if I can upgrade the battery to one that will last longer during boondocking. The battery is now 5 years old and will probably need to be changed soon anyway. I am not even sure if this battery is a deep cycle or not.

I am also not sure how much of an upgrade I can pursue with my solar panels/controller. The specs on the battery from the Harris website are below. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

  • Any battery mentioning “cold cranking amps” isn’t a great house battery. Do you have room for two six volt batteries? Have you calculated your average amp hour use per day? Start there. Lots of online tutorials.
