Attwood Water Heater issue

Hi,

I have a 2015 Kodiak 241rbsl TT.
This is the first time I have tested the HW system, getting ready to take it out for the first time.
I have an Attwood Gas/Electric electronic ignition HW service.
I filled it and flicked the Gas switch to heat it up.
The gas fires and the burner fires and runs for about 10 minutes then goes off. I test the hot water and the first 5 seconds is scalding, then the rest of the water if I keep running the hot faucet is just luke warm. It takes awhile for the burner to reignite.
Any idea what the issue is?
It is a brand new HW system.
Thanks

    Outside shower turned off?

I don't have one, just a spray jet snap fitting.
  • I did put one back inline and all I got from the hot faucet was cold water. The other one I did the same, albeit just quickly and it didn't seem to make a difference. Should I have left the last one closed longer?
  • Chances are, of the two valves, one is the cold water inlet & the second one is the bypass of which should be "closed", not inline
  • It had 2 valves behind the HW heater that had been turned to bypass, I placed them both back inline.
