My Atwood propane detector Series 2001 died. The replacement model 36270/31014 is about 1/2" smaller (meaning the existing hole in the wall is a little large). I'm sure others have faced this proble...

You could buy a elctrical blank plate big enough to cover the hole and mount the detector to it.
