I also just replaced my Saf-T-Alert brand propane gas detector. Was going through the camper checking things out and saw the label on the detector said to be replaced after 60 months from date of purchase. I just bought my trailer which is a 2010 so at 96 months I figured it was time to replace it. I bought a replacement combo unit that does Propane and CO. Fortunately it was an exact fit. Fits in a rectangle about 1 1/2" x 6".
If it were not I'd have used luan or thick piece of plastic vinyl wall covering to make a new mounting plate.
I also replaced the battery operated smoke detectors as I guessed they were the same age.
