Atwood Water Heater Tank Crack Repair ? UPDATE

Update 11 Aug ----------- Not sure yet, but it appears a friend might need a tank repair. Can you fix that with the usual suspect car body repair stuff--fibreglass and that Bondo goop or whatever...

Replace the tank...

You'd have to disassemble the halves of the tank to get to the burner tube, and by that time, the labor would exceed what it takes to get a new tank.

PEX itself won't be susceptible to freeze damage, but the fittings are, particularly at a low point where water might have collected.
