Are those units not powder coated?
Transformers, at least good ones are submerged in clear varnish then the vessel is pumped airless to dislodge bubbles. Makes for a weather tight seal after the varnish is baked.
I cannot see where this storage is going to pose a problem. Protection from rain and dew is important and the OP really did it up well IMO.
