Low humming is normal for transfer switches. Sometimes just a small smack on the cover might stop what is vibrating... The windings in the transformer relay coil that is activated by the shore power cable is what is vibrating something making the HUMMING sound.
To stop the humming would be to unplug the Shore Power cable but I doubt if you want to do that haha...
I would be more concerned if feeling the cover and it is hot to touch then hearing humming. It the cover is HOT this might indicate the relay CONTACTS are not making good contact and heating up due to your large Air Conditioner load all day long...
