  • If the ptrap is dry it will let the smell from the tanks back into the trailer. You can put some RV antifreeze in the shower/sink drains to see if it helps.
  • See my post in General RVing Issues " Stinky toilet story" I went nuts finding out what this problem was.

    Aloha Leon
  • I had sewer odor in my trailer several days after having dumped the tanks. Turned out the tanks weren't as empty as I thought. Dumped them again, stuck the hose up in the tank and got it good and clean. Added some water + antifreeze back and odor still gone 4 months later.
  • Yes l have smelled a mouse before and l don,t smoke. anything elso
  • Light a cigarette, you won't notice the foul odor.......
  • What kind of odor?

    Boiled battery....sulfur/acid
    Fridge coolant leak...ammonia
Toilet floor flange and/or toilet bowl seal....sewer smell (urine/poop)
Air addmittamce valve(s)...sewer (they are under the sink on drain line after 'P' trap. They open when dumping grey waste tank so 'P' traps don't get sucked dry. If they stay open grey tank smells come back inside RV. Grey stinks)
    Empty 'P' traps...grey tank smells
Hot water...sulfur smell. Water heater needs treated
Dead critters......it will go away in a few weeks
    Mold/Mildew.....musky smell
  • I read some of the other posts on what you could do. so I won't rehash that stuff. Is the trailer new to you? Sounds like it is. Could the trailer have been leaking previously and you're smelling mold and mildew? or could the carpet be grossly dirty? Had a chance to air it out yet?
  • If it is an ammonia type smell it maybe the refrigerator cooling unit has gone bad.

    Other type smell
    - check to make sure all roof vents and pipes are clear
    - the seal on the toilet at the floor flange may have gone bad
    - bad can goods in a storage compartment
    - dead fish in your fishing creel
