I know people who keep a hitch in because it is the difference in Austin between someone rear-ending then making a successful hit and run versus a cracked rad core and the person actually having to stick around to deal with the consequences of their actions.
I personally don't, because I park in garages where every millimeter counts to squeeze in a truck, but it is understandable that others do. Sometimes I see people will bump others at a stoplight since to them, the horn isn't loud enough to convey how urgent it is for others to clear the way.
