EDIT--LY you are right this is not lab standard, but it is "close enough for government work". We are trying to use the top 50% where things are fairly linear on discharge.
It was argued here some years ago that the bottom 50% would be different, but that is illogical. We never resolved that argument.
Doesn't matter, the idea is to get some idea of how things stand compared with the rating "as new".
I will try to find that V shaped graph that shows SG etc.
The smart gauge needs 3 charge discharge cycles to calibrate its self per the manual.
