This is diagram on how the the 6VDC batteries should be connected in series. The end result gives you a positive +12VDC connection and a negative -12VDC frame ground connection.

If you have more the two connections on the same terminal I would use one of these LUG TYPE TERMINAL Blocks. BLUE SEA makes a nice terminal strip for your battery cable ring terminals and comes with a snap-on cover. You can order BLUE SEA ITEMS marine grade electrical from AMAZON if you get the part number from the BLUE SEA page...

I would also mark each of the cable connections on the POSITIVE 12VDC Battery terminal with RED FINGERNAIL polish so that you won't get the cables mixed up after removing them.
I would NOT add four or five ring terminals together using a large bolt and nut like suggested above here as this could be a bad connection source when pulling high DC currents. This could open up a real bag of worms for you...
All of my cables in the high current path are 4AWG size ANCOR Marine quality flexible cables with nice adhesive type heat shrink material on the ends to keep moisture away from the hand crimp ends...
This is a diagram of a typical hook-up for my off-r0ad POPUP camper if I ever went two 6VDC batteries in series. All of 12VDC items here uses the ring terminal connections so you will not have more than two connections at any point. Otherwise I would use a BLUE SEA Terminal strip.

I also would never use more ONE CONNECTIONs to frame ground connections. Just drill and TAP another hole close by for your frame ground ring terminal connection from from the battery -12VDC side.. PEP BOYS sells a nice DRILL and TAP package to use with heavy duty self tap bolt for making FRAME GROUND holes. I use a star washer that fits the bolt here.
