Battery Disconnect

I currently have a battery disconnect switch sitting in my garage, the one pictured below.

wanting to be able to kill all power when in storage. with my battery having several cables on the positive terminal, can i just place all the cables onto 1 end of the disconnect, and then wire a single hot wire from battery to the other end of the switch?

i figured that by just putting the switch inline with the main power cable, other draws might still pull from the battery, so putting the switch between power and every other connection would be a certain power cut to everything. just not sure if it's dangerous to have everything on the switch.

  • I'm no electrician but why not put it on the negative side. Some place it on the negative, others on the positive. I have seen arguments for the benefits of both.If you have a bunch of wires going to the positive already, why not put the cut off on the negative which will cut the ground to all of them?
