BRRRRRR -72 C (-99 f) would not be good for a standard lead acid battery (or me either).
Yes our technology is wonderful these days.
What I'd love to have is something that would reduce the voltage down to a maximum of 15.4 volts. If I could do that I could allow the Blue Sky solar controller to jack up the voltage to the battery banks.
Fortunately the converter is capable of running the 12 volt loads in my rv, and the disconnect switch can be used to remove the battery bank from the circuit. A few times I did that and toggled equalization mode from the Blue Sky controller.
This is possibly the last year that I'll be spending significant time at -30 c and colder. I'm going to snow bird on about Nov 15, 2014 until March of 2015.
