Battery gassing.

An odd happening- Hydrogen sulfide inhalation from car battery killed mother, daughter, medical examiner says.

The malfunctioning battery might have been nothing more than a nuisance, except in the Porsche Cayenne, the battery isn’t under the hood; it’s under the driver’s seat.

This has been a very odd case from the start, but I would think the Cayenne comes with an AGM battery- which adds to the mystery.
  • Most people don't know this but H2S (hydrogen sulfide) is just about as deadly as hydrogen cyanide. And people are more likely to encounter it. Men working down in manholes have frequently died from it.

I'm a little surprised that a battery outgassed H2S, usually hydrogen gas is what you worry about from batteries.
