1. Does anybody have any experience with the DEKA batteries?
Deka brand batteries are manufactured by East Penn, who sell under several other brand names including the Duracell lead acid batteries sold at Sams Club.

Any battery that advertise CCA or MCA is not a "true" deep cycle battery. It that is what you want, keep shopping. 12V deep cycle batteries are hard to find and are expensive.
(Trojan T1275 are 12V true deep cycle or look for a 12V golf cart battery)enblethen wrote:
I would be switching out to two 6 volt golf cart batteries from Costco (or Sams) for about $80 each.
Absolutely the BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK !

know it is a pain, but the best thing you can do when your trailer is in storage is remove the batteries and take them somewhere where they can be placed on a trickle charge. I only have anecdotal evidence, but lead acid batteries do NOT like to be left on trickle charges for weeks on end. The best thing you can do is buy a cheap, mechanical lamp timer, set it for a couple of hours a day and then plug the trickle charger into that,
