The OP stated he knew very little about batteries and has got a lot of good information here but may still be confused about how to check for what is draining his battery. First get a multimeter if you don't have one they are free from Harbor Freight. Set the Multi meter to the 10 amp scale, turn your disconnect switch off, then disconnect the neg cable from your battery. Put the black lead from your mutimeter on the neg terminal of you battery post and the red one on the disconnected cable from the battery. A normal parasitic draw may be around .5 amps or less. This should take several weeks before it significantly draws down a good battery. If you see several amps with your mulimeter, begin to pull each DC fuse or circuit breaker until you see the amperage on the meter drop, then you will know which circuit is causing this amperage draw. If your amperage draw is normal then have your battery load tested, this is free at Walmart's or most auto parts stores. If bad replace with 2 6 volt Golf Cart batteries (wired in series to make 12 volts) from Costco or Sam's Club as enblethen suggested. Hope this helps.
