Battery recommendation
My new to me toy hauler came with only one battery. I plan to add a second battery and am looking for recommendations based on your experience.

Give it a try charging a lowish battery and see if voltage steadily climbs to 14.2+ volts and you are good. Most WFCO just trickle charge at 13.6 volts max regardless of what the battery needs. There are few tricks to get boost mode but most give up and replace the converter.- How do you plan to use your unit?

- "New to me" implies a used battery. Two different age batteries in parallel is recipe to ruin both when first one goes. Spend a bit more and get two 6v golf cart batteries.
- Before you ruin two instead of just one battery, I would upgrade your new to you converter firsthand. Almost guarantee you have a WFCO unless it older than 10 years.

If you are just adding one... get same again what you have.
Otherwise if you plan to camp off-grid a lot and for extended periods you should also review the charging system and total battery capacity.

Like was said, if the battery you have is a deep cycle battery, just add another deep cycle to it. The battery you add must be the same type, but the size capacity can differ, like you can add a grp 27 to a grp 24.
