I believe keeping your batteries plugged in 24/7 eats your plates away quicker than leaving your MH unplugged and recharging when the SOC reaches 80-90%.
And where does belief come from pray tell.
I too have heard debate on "Keep 'em charged or let 'em sit".
What I've not heard is a resolution.
What I can tell you.. Interstate GC-2 Flooded wet cells lasted 9 years with nearly full time charge (Ok I spend about one month a year on the road. Parking-lot-docking (usually flying J but a few other lots as well) and a couple trips to Quartzite (2 weeks with only the Genny).
But they spent over 90% of their time on charge, either alternator or Progressive Dynamics 9180+wizard.
That's within "Expected" life of 7-10 years.
The Deka's that replace 'em lasted till the insurance said "Total Loss" and paid off on it.
