Agree with above about the optimal and no issue with the currect setup.
My question is why is the generator charging the batteries? Regardless of shore power or generator, the Progressive charger should be recharging the batteries, not the generator.
If the generator does indeed have a battery charging circuit and you are connecting the generator 110v to the shore power input, than isn't both the generator and the progressive charger charging the batteries? For proper charging, you should only have one source.
The water issue may be because you have two charging sources which effects the one pair more than the other.
